Low Power概念介紹

今天我們要介紹的Low Power概念是SRPG Cell,全稱State Retention Power Gating Cell(狀態(tài)保持電源門控單元)。這是一種特殊的寄存器,對(duì)于一般的寄存器來(lái)說(shuō),如果斷電以后,原有的數(shù)據(jù)就無(wú)法保存,重新連通電源以后,就會(huì)出現(xiàn)原有數(shù)據(jù)丟失的情況。因此,我們可以給一些必須保持?jǐn)?shù)據(jù)的寄存器建立一個(gè)類似備份的設(shè)備。電源關(guān)閉前,將寄存器的數(shù)據(jù)保存到備份設(shè)備上;電源打開(kāi)后,從備份設(shè)備上將數(shù)據(jù)重新寫(xiě)入寄存器中。

SRPG cell工作在VDD電壓域,是可以關(guān)斷的電壓域,D、Clk、Ret和Q是寄存器的控制和輸出信號(hào)。該寄存器在斷電時(shí),會(huì)有一部分電源一直有電,也就是Ret電路工作在VDD電壓域,不會(huì)被關(guān)閉。當(dāng)“Save”信號(hào)有效,Ret會(huì)把寄存器的值保存起來(lái);當(dāng)"Restore"有效,Ret將保存的數(shù)值寫(xiě)入寄存器中 。需要注意的是,一個(gè)SRPG Cell一般要比普通寄存器面積要大約20%左右。

我們來(lái)看一下UPF文件中的SRPG cell:

set_retention ret_va1 \ srpg cell的前綴

-domain VA1 \ 指定voltage area

-retention_supply_set ss_va1_base \ 指定srpg cell的supply set

-save_condition save_en1 \ 指定srpg cell "save"信號(hào)有效的條件

-restore_condition restore_en1 指定srpg cell "restore"信號(hào)有效的條件

set_retention ret_va2 \

-domain VA2\

-retention_supply_set ss_top \

-save_condition save_en2 \

-restore_condition restore_en2
